Heart refers to the authenticity of being true to who I am. I am Shauni. I am a woman, (grand)daughter, friend, cat mom, snake mom, dog mom, editor, reader, writer, gamer, thinker, feeler, dreamer, and so much more. I love foggy mountain mornings and being bundled up with a warm cup of tea and the latest book from my TBR. I adore warm bubble baths and cozy gaming on my computer. I live for morning walks and the sounds of nothing but the wind and the birds waking up.

 

​San is the Korean word for mountain, which holds additional meaning for me. First, I have lived in multiple climates, and I have never been happier than I am amongst pine trees, mossy rocks, and whispering creeks. And life is a series of mountains. The path I take guides me along the peaks I face. I believe that the mindset I have along the way determines how difficult it is—or isn't—to overcome each peak and establishes what will be left in my wake when I begin each descent.

In April 2026, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and participated in a short-story writing challenge with Writing Battle.
